Abused, tormented and feeling unloved

Oh, I am not happy! Why do the ones we love (who say they love us) abuse us? I mean, is it really fair that we have to go to a place that takes our blood, pokes around in our belly, and sticks us with needles? Thank DOG that they did not have to poke in my butt (mom supplied a sample, if you know what I mean). So, I just don't understand!

You know, to show my distaste and unhappiness, I was completely unruly and showed my hiney!!! I whimpered when they took my blood. When that did not work, I snarled when they tried to give me my shots. Oh, to even show my distaste in that, I broke loose of the hold they thought they had on me and bounced about the room, with the needle still in me, like a completely insane dog.

On a good note, I passed all of my tests. No icky worms in my heart and poop! My eyes look good, other than my corneal dystrophy. The good Doc complimented my mom on keeping the ears clean and brushing my teeth because both looked great. He complimented me on my sleek and soft fur. Oh, my weight! Mom had it wrong. This time last year, I weighted 40 pounds. Today, I weighed in at 43 pounds (almost 44)! Woo Hoo! I have gained 3 pounds this year. The good vet even noticed my nice muscular thighs and said WOW! He said that I could stand to gain a few more pounds, but understands that we Siberians are very active. Mom told him that she changed my food in February and that I seem to be eating a bit more than I used to.

My mom wants to know if any other doggies out there (Girl Girl included) go to the vet and show their hiney - completely forgetting ALL manners that are displayed everywhere else they go. I really am a good dog. I just don't know what comes over me when I go into that small room. Oh, and I didn't even have to get up on the table! I think they have learned their lesson with that one.

Here I am after we got home - COMPLETELY NOT HAPPY!!! Hugs to you all.

Hi Sitka!

I don't think I like the vet either! Get some rest! :)

We had to go to the vet today too. At first I thought we were going somewhere fun because I was giving Mom sporadic kisses. When we arrived at the vet it looked okay so I was still happy. Then this nice lady took me away and took my blood too (check my blood level for phenob. med and check from lyme disease). Thankfully when I came back out my Mom was still there!

I (Lee) can't go back there with the vet because Amici freaks out, wiggles, and is too jumpy for the doctor to get any blood or clip his nails so I have to stay in the waiting room.

You're not alone Sitka, the vet is a good place to get a work up done, but not always what we are expecting.

Suprising we are the opposite. We are very well behaved when we are there. The devil in us only comes out when we are at home..hehe.

Yup, our address is the same one :)

Awww Sitka, Sounds like a total drag of a day. My mom went to the vet on the weekend. I wonder if she showed them her hiney. I'll have to ask.

Yay Sitka...you go girl...all healthy you are...and svelte and beautiful. Woo!!! Going to the vet is kinda stressful...but with news like this it almost seems worth it, huh?

I would have LOVED to see you with the needle sticking out and you running around. I'm sure it wasn't funny at the time but it seems kinda funny now...ok, maybe not.

Lots of Licks, Ruby

Oh Sitka, you had a traumatic day! When I go, it takes two of them to hold me down and I'm still a pup. You have a right to be miffed.
Glad everything was okay, but still, you deserve lots of hugs and kisses after that.

I usually don't mind going. Abby LOVES going to the vet. Samuel is a lot like you. He likes to throw a fit and make it seem like he is being abused. He is always very good at being very vocal about it too! Our vet just laughs and says those huskies are so funny!! I hope you got treats for all that abuse!!

We don't like the vet either, but We just try to get very small and quite while they do their thing. Guinness even had to go to the doggie opthomologist for her eyes. GSD dogs can get growths on their eyes that can cover them up so they cannot see. She was getting some, so off to the big $$ vet for her. She very patiently lets the daddy put the evil drops in her eyes so they stay all soulful and pretty. We're sorry you had such a rrrruff day, Sitka

I don't like the vet either, but I sure don't show them my hiney! The first thing my vet does is stick something up my hiney. Not even a hello first. No wonder you are not happy.

Aw Sitka, that all sounds a bit stressful. I think I have to go soon for needles, yikes!

Better to be a little underweight than overweight health wise my vet says.

Hi Sitka!
I just got back from the vet. I don't do anything when they poked me with the needle and was surprised by me not fussing around..

wait for next time! I'm just testing the waters!

Great to know you're okay!

remember, it's for your own good!

I'm overweight and I'm happy about it!

I, too, have corneal dystrophy. I've known about it for around 4 years. Mine hasn't progressed at all, however I did have to give up piloting aircraft.

Steve, Kat, & Wilbur said...

I like the vet. But Wilbur hates, hates, HATES it. He went a couple weeks ago and came home really grumpy. I could smell new people on his fur, so I kept chasing him around the house to smell him and boy, he didn't like that!

Way to go Sitka!!! That's how you're supposed to behave to those nasty people who steal your blood and poke you in unmentionable places!!!

I am only 11 pounds, but it takes at LEAST 5 people to hold me down....

i'm so sorry to hear about your ordeal! i had a bad experience recently, too. i don't think i showed my hiney to anyone, but the last time my mom took me to one of those places, she left me there in my go-bag (then they put it in a cage - with me inside it!). if that wasn't horrid enough, they came and got me and even though they were talking real nice, they poked and stuck me, SHAVED MY LEG of it's beautiful hair, and when i woke up, there was this sticky thing poking out of it and i felt like totaly CRAP. i snoozed a lot til finally mom came and took me back home. my dad said they took my baby-box out, whatever that is. i had a very-very-very bad night that night and cried all night long, making mom cry too. it was the worst experience of my 10 months on earth so far. wow hoomans do weird stuff to us, don't they?

Oh, no, Sitka. I had to do that 2 weeks ago.
I hope you got a good claw in!

Oh you poor thing. I don't like going to the vet either. I have to say my vet is really nice to me but I don't like him poking the thing in me at you know where.

MaPaw said...

Actually, I am so quiet and still the vet calls me abnormal. I think she expects me to act like you. Congratulations on gaining weight and building some muscle.

Glad all your tests came back good & congrats on your weight gain, we just went 2 weeks ago for our rabies shots & malechai (the big cow) weighed 67 lbs & I weighed 59. The vet said we are just "big boned". Ya think?!

Doesn't your vet give you cookies? Our vets and the students always give us cookies. I like that part. Dave is so relaxed there, he practically falls asleep. Me, I like to keep an eye on everything, but I'm real good. Especially when they bring out the COOKIES!
