My Trip to the beach ....

Woo Friends and Girl Girl!

I have returned from the beach and boy did I have a good time!! Do you remember when I went to the beach last year? What about the digging in the sand that I did? Anyroo, it was time again for Dad's conference down in St Simons Island, so, mom and I tagged along. Right when I got there, I found some beautiful flowers! They are called Hibiscus and were covered in butterflies!!!So, continuing on my discoveries, I found another cool tree. Do you remember the cool one I found in Hilton Head?

Moving on toward the beach... I find this cool walkway thingy. I could feel the breeze from the ocean. Oh, it feels to good.

Time for a dip! Check me out. I even dipped my head in the water and drank a few times. Little did I know it was SALT water. It was not what I thought it would be.

So, mom made me get out for a rest, but it was calling me back to it.

So, after about 30 min of playing in the water, I was pretty tired and hot. As we were walking back to the hotel, I found this puddle of water in the middle of the beach. Mom explained that the tide just went out and sometimes it leaves water behind.

After I had some time to rest and get dry, we went out to dinner to this place called Brogen's North. Guess what? They were pet friendly, so I went to dinner with my parents. There were some biped kids there playing around like they were pirates! They kept running around and I kept whimpering because I wanted to play with them, but mom would not let me.
So, day 2 of our trip... Mom caught the sun peeping through the trees. Isn't this pretty???

Time to go visit the beach again. While I was out and about, I found two very interesting things. Mom would not let me have either of them, but she took some photos for you to see what I found. What do you think about it?

Wow, those were cool. You can find some interesting things at the beach, huh? Oh, speaking of interesting things. Mom discovered something about me while we were on our trip. Mom has never noticed this before and was wondering if any of you other Siberians have this? Look, I have a Dash on my tail. See?

So, back out to the beach. Guess what time it is? DIGGING TIME! So, I ask this question... What do you think?

Back in the water.. check me out jumping waves. With each trip into the water, I got deeper and deeper. Mom was with me every step of the way. She got totally drenched. It was awesome!

Look at my wet fur? Can you tell how deep I went? Last time, I only got a few inches of my feet went.... this time, I went past my chest! I am so brave!

Well, to conclude another great day, look at this beautiful photo of the moon. The night before, mom said the moon was a harvest moon. She tried to get a good photo of the orange tint to the moon, but it did not come out like she expected.

Day 3, my last day :( Maverick and friends, guess what I found!! There is a road on the island that was adopted by pirates! Cool! I looked for their ship, but I never could find them :(
Mom and I had a few hours to waste before Dad was out of his conference, so we went to the pier. I had spotted some birds in the photo below (birds not pictured, lol). They kept taunting me! That did not make me very happy. I did scare mom once. The wind picked up some kind of black fluff and I caught it in the air. I did this beautiful jump and caught it! Mom saw something black in my mouth, feared I caught a bird, and told me to drop it. So, I dropped it, and the wind picked it up again. It was not a bird.

Oh, we found this cool cannon. I wonder if a Pirate Ship is nearby? I looked, but did not see one.

Check out the St. Simons Lighthouse. Isn't it so cool. (I think mom did an excellent job taking this photo).

Remember that I told you earlier that butterflies were everywhere? Well, I found an entire patch of them. Check out this one. I tried to talk to it, but it wanted nothing to do with me.

Well, Mom told me it was time to go back to the car. I did as I was told and led the way.

So, once we were in the car, I asked....
Mom informed me that it was time to go pick him up.
Oh, I almost forgot to tell you. I saw this cool dog walking. It looked like a Siberian, but had the ears and legs of a Saluki. So, my educated guess says that it was a Saluki Siberian Mix. It was adorable, in my opinion :)
Well, another fun fun fun trip to the beach. I wish you all could have gone with me. I leave you with this photo of me on the beach. I could say that I actually was off leash and behaved like a perfect angel, but mom used some cool program and removed my leash from the photo. Cool huh? So, at least in a photo, I can have a dream of being free on the beach!

Hugs to all of you! Oh, one more thing, when we returned I had mail from the Five Happy Hounds!!!! Be on the lookout for some great photos of our pressies!!!

Cheese Cookies, Allergy Reports, My Bed, & Beach

Woooo Pup Friends and Girl Girl...

Well, I have several things to share with you all today. Let's start with Cheese Cookies. This weekend before the University of Georgia Football game, Mom made me some special game time treats. They are Cheese Cookies. See Mom recently bought a new cookbook from Harnessed to Hope Northern Breed Rescue and I asked her to make me something out of it when we got it in the mail. (Oh, MaPaw Siberian Rescue has a great cookbook too. Don't worry friends with MaPaw.... I am going to get your cookbook too).

Anyroo, so I was in the kitchen helping mom make these cheese cookies. Check out that roll!!!

Come on mom... Let me have it, please!!!!

Come on, just one little itsy bitsy taste.

Arrrgggg! Just as fast as I got my chompers almost around that ball of cheese mixture, mom snatched it right out of my mouth. That does not seem fair to tease your Siberian. Don't you all agree?? So, after that ball sat in the fridge, mom rolled it out into Bone and Butterfly shapes and baked it. Oh check out the glory....

Oh friends, I wish you could taste these cookies. They were SOOOO good! Thanks HTHNBR for putting such a great recipe in your cookbook!!!

Ok, moving on from food.... do you remember when I went to the vet about my horka horka horka? You may also remember that they took my blood without my permission to send off and run tests on it. Well, the results are in. Let me say that I am not technically allergic to anything, however, I did score near the category for being allergic to a few things. So, mom is just going to try her best not to feed me stuff with Beet Pulp in it. I mean, what the heck is beet pulp???

So, here is how it works... with food, apparently if you are over 40 MAU (Modified Absorbance Units) it is cause for worry. Here were my top score getters - Beet Pulp 26, Brewer's Yeast 19, Corn 19, and Flax Seed 14. Everything else is 0-9. They did test me for Kangaroo!!! Umm, I don't know what exactly to say about that.

So, let's look at environmental stuff. There are three categories (all in that MAU stuff) - 0-39 no significant allergies, 40-59 should be considered significant, greater than 60 Significant. I did have some high vote getters in the 0-39 range, such as Sage Mix, Dog Fennel, Bahia Grass, and some other things with funny names. I had one thing score a 52 and that is DUST! So, I guess I am sorta allergic to dust! Can you believe this? I promise my mom is not a total slob. I mean, she could sweep once every day, rather than once a week or once every two weeks. Oh well!!

I am still doing my horka thing, but not as much as before. Mom gives me a teaspoon of Benadryl, watches me, backs off of it, and if I horka again, I get more Benadryl. That is about all we can do. Well, unless mom cleans every single day, including every nook and crannie in the joint!!!

My Bed! Do you remember when Mom caved and bought me a new bed??? Well, guess what? I have finally made a hole in it, ha rooo!!!

Lastly (Whew! Sorry for the long post), I am going to the beach this weekend. Remember my first trip? We are leaving on Thursday and coming home on Saturday. Woo Hoo! I can't wait to dig in the beach sand again. I hope to have some exciting things to show you! I wonder if I will see an Emu again??

I am taking my puter with me on this trip, so hopefully, I can check in with all of you while we are at the beach.

Hugs and Loves to all of you!!! - Sitka

Tagged by the AO4

Wow! Pups and Girl Girl, the AO4 has tagged me twice!

The first one is the vehicle tag! Basically, the rules are to tell everyone what kind of vehicle you think you are (the one that best resembles your personality). Humm, I will let Tia go first.

Meows - Tia here - So after much thought, I think that the Bentley Continental GT3 best fits me. It is obviously sleek and classy, just like me! Of course there are those unconfirmed rumors that I may actually be a multi-gazillions-aire, an actually have a Bentley in my secret underground lair. I will never tell :) I decided to pick silver, since it is reserved and classic! ::wink::

Woo! So, what did you think about Tia's car? Pretty cool huh? I am sure she likes the wind blowing through her fur!!!

So, moving on to my car of choice. I choose the Ferrari 360 Spider. Like me, it is fast, turns on a dime, corners like it is on rails, but may not even start when you try to take it out of the driveway (since Ferrari's are known to be a little cantankerous). You will also notice that it usually comes in red, which is my signature color (ok, Tia's too).

The second tag is the nickname tag! So, basically, we are supposed to list the nicknames that our parents call us. Since I am being nice to my sister, I will let her go first again.

Meows - Tia again - So, here are the names that my humans call me... Queen, Queen Tia, Tia Loo, QueenyQueenyQueeny, Tia the huntress, Bull Cat... the list goes on and on....

Ok, here are mine - Sitka Loo, Va-moosh-ka, Sitka Roo, Lou Lou, Poodle Butt (don't ask where that came from 'cuz I don't know), Toodle Squat, Toodle Button, Furry Butt, Toot Toot... Well, my list goes on and on too!

Well, those two games were super fun. I TAG anyone who has not played this game yet, ha roo!

Hugs, Sitka

P.S. Do you remember the quilt that theAO4's mom made for me and my family? Do you remember that it was done because of a donation that my mom made in Xia's honor. Well, Xia has found her forever home with Dakota! Stop by Dakota's blog and say hello to Xia!!!

It is here

Woo Woo Pups and Girl Girl...

Do you remember all of the sweet posts that the Army of Four did last week - Sitka's Quilt, what about Sitka's Quilt...Completed, and did you see sweet Sunday Salute ?? Perhaps this photo will spark your memory.

Just look at that Handsome Zimmie sitting before my quilt!!! Well, yesterday, mom got a package addressed to her (Oh, it did say "Hi Sitka, Hi Tia".. woo hoo! ) from the Army of 4 and their mom :) Anyroo, she opened the package and boy were there some nice surprises inside. Humm... where to start... How about with me checking out the ever so sweet card that Zim wrote to me... umm, I mean to Tia, Mom, Dad, and myself. (Sorry for the blurry photo. I really wanted to use this one because I am licking the card, ha roo!)

I ask, "Mom, What else is in the box?" Then she pulled out something nice and soft. It smelled totally Divine.

Wooo Tia... do you see our quilt? Do you see the eagle????? Do you like how it smells????

So, I have one question so far. How in the world did the AO4's mom get this nice quilt made, packed and mailed without any Siberian fur getting on it???? She must be magic! Oh wait... there is something else in the box....

ohhh.. ohhh... ohhh... do you see the writing on that bag???

oh my dogness! It smells heavenly.... Tia... Let's check this out....

Oh, Wow... My very own piece of Stormy, Zim, Amber, AND Dave. Wow, you 4 smell soooooo good. Oh, your fur is so soft on my nose. Tia smelled you all too. She thinks that we should spread out the fur on the quilt and let it seep into the fabric along with our fur, ha roo! She is silly. I told her I want to keep it in my own personal bag so I can smell and drool on it whenever I want to. I wonder if we can compromise??

Oh Wait Friends... there seems to be something else in the box. Let's take a closer look, shall we?

Wow! Look at that! The AO4's mom made some earrings and a beautiful bracelet for my mom! Do you see what color it is? Pink and Purple. Mom loves those colors and so does her favorite red Siberian, Zim! Zim mainly likes the colors because his food comes in a bag with those colors, ha rooo!!!! Ok, I am not sure if you can see, but there are two charms on the bracelet. One says "Talk to the Paw". HA ROO. That is in honor of Tia. The other charm says "Woof!" for me! Mom absolutely loves it and has not taken off the earrings since she got them. She loves dangly earrings!!

Wooo Stormy, Zim, Amber, and Dave.... my family LOVES the quilt. It is so snuggly and absolutely beautiful! The colors go well with our sofa and ottoman (as you could tell from the photos). You 4 AND your mom ROCK!!!

Hugs, Sitka and Tia (oh, and mom too)

Pressie from HollyBollyBoo

Wow Pups and Girl Girl...

This past weekend I got a yummy smelling pressie from my best friend, Holly! In the picture below, I am trying my best to take the pressie from mom's lap and run with it. I can't imagine what is inside it that smells so beefy!!!

First before I go any further.. so you see the Siberian Sleepy Pants??? Well, Meeshka warned me. I won these from Meeshka during her blogathon this year. Ever since I received them, mom has been lounging in them all of the time. I honestly am getting tired of seeing her in them. Sigh!!! Ok.. so back to my pressie. Mom finally got it opened. It would have been opened sooner but she had to stop and take photos. Anyroo.... she first pulled out this....

Look at my beautiful best friend. I got such a sweet card from Holly. She wrote such a sweet note inside it for my eyes only :0) Ha ROO!! So, moving on. There is still something in there that smells delicious. Oh.. there it is.... Roast Beef Bones!!! I love roast!

Wait... there is something else in that package. It is for MOM! Wow, Holly sure is generous. Let's see what it is. It is Scott Ski's book called Dogged and Determined. He wrote this collection of stories about his Siberian, Taz!

So, finally, mom let me have one of those bones. Oh my... they were better than I imagined.. (Let me apologize for my mom's baby talk to me. Sigh.)

Wow! Thank you Holly for all of the special treats! Mom has started reading the book to me. So far, the stories are pretty funny. You are so sweet to have sent us some pressies. Mom and I love everything you sent and we put your card on the fridge so I can look at your beautiful face while mom is at work during the day.

9/11 and the Vets

I would like to extent my thoughts to all of those who lost a beloved one from the attacks of 9/11. May God bless those who were lost and may he bless those who saved the lives of others.:::::::::::::Pausing for a moment of silence:::::::::::::

Well, today, I took a visit to the vet. Oh my dogness, this place smelled fantastic!!! Here I am listening to what is going on on the other side of the door.....

So, I finally went through the doors. The nice lady took my blood. I told her that I did not sign a release form for her to take my blood, but she did it anyways. They weighed me too. Guess what? I have put on a few lbs from my yearly checkup at the end of June. I now weight 45.2 lbs! However, the tech said that I did look petit!

So, as I was waiting for the vet to come thought the doors, mom caught me doing this....

Mom reminded me that I am not supposed to get on counters, but I quickly told her to return to the photo and she would clearly see that my feet were NOT touching the counter. Ha roo!!!

So, the reason behind this vet visit is that it seems that mom wanted me tested for allergies. I have been doing this horka horka horka thing that has had mom a bit worried. My vet seems to think that if my tests come back negative for allergies, then I may have some problems that are associated with an environmental irritant (dust, or something like that). So, he asked mom to give me some benedryl (which I have had in the past) to help with my horka horka horka breathing thingy while we wait on my tests (which should be back end of this week or beginning of next week.

So, I will keep you all posted when I find out whatever I find out. Again, I am so sorry that I have been slack in visiting your posts and posting myself. Mom has been busy, and she has not appreciated the fact that I have been depriving her of sleep at night with my horka stuff.

Hugs! Sitka

Destroying cardboard

Woo pup friends and Girl Girl...

Sorry that I have been MIA for the past week. Mom has been super busy and has not had time to help me blog and view your posts... rest assured, I will be catching up within the next 24 hours. I have missed all of you....

So, the other night, Dad brought home dinner and the drinks were in this cupholder thingy. It was this glorious cardboard. It called my name... "Sitka, come destroy me." Well, guess what? Mom heard the calling to and she gave it to me. Check out this footage of me playing with it.

By the time my play session ended - less than 5 minutes - it was in a million pieces. Oh the joy of life and destriction that is allowed by your parents :)
