Christmas Stuff...

Woo Woo Woo Pups, Girl Girl, and Wilber!!!

As promised, I thought I would share some photos with you of my hard work putting up (er... supervising mom) the Christmas Tree and Decorations. It has been mom's tradition since she was a little girl to put up the tree (yes, it is artificial) the day after Thanksgiving. She takes it down the day after Christmas, btw. She is also quite the early bird when it comes to shopping. Since my mom's birthday falls in December (that means new car tag!), she likes to get all of her shopping done. Plus, she enjoys looking at the tree with all of the pretty wrapped presents under it! I must admit, I have never destroyed any of the presents under the tree. Mom hopes that this year will remain the same since she moved the tree's location from the window in the den to where it is now.

Oh, several of you had commented on mom getting up early the day after Thanksgiving to go shopping. She wanted to let you all know that this is the first year she has ever done it (and is not sure she will ever do it again). It was INSANE at Wal-Mart when they got there at 4:30 a.m. People lined up everywhere to get whatever they came in for. She and Dad went for the sole purpose of buying the TV since it was basically 1/2 off the regular price! The sale started at 5 a.m., and they were checking out at 5:04 a.m. and home by 5:10 a.m.

Ok, moving on to my tree. The first photo is of the tree and mantle. Usually we put the tree by one of the windows in the living room, but mom wanted to change it up this year.

Here is Miss Tia. She is trying to figure out how to get on top of the mantle. Do you think we should tell her that mom would not like that idea too well?

So, mom was trying to get a photo of me in front of the tree. She is going to keep trying, but this was her first attempt. Hehehehe ha roooo! Can't you just hear me laughing at her??

So, she tried to outsmart me now. She started tossing my toys toward the tree to catch me on the return. I thought this was pretty smart of her and did not think it deserved a laugh, but she still did not get the photo she wants - me sitting nicely by the tree smiling.

Ohhh, I like this photo. Mom tossed up my Nubbley and I caught it in the air. From this view, you really can't tell that my upper body is in the air. If you look behind me, you will see the new TV that my parents got up on Friday morning to purchase. Mom says that it is a 32 inch wide screen and that it looks twice the size of the 20 inch that used to be there.

Here is our tree at night when the lights are out. Kinda mesmerizing huh?

Well, I hope you enjoyed these photos. I do have some cool ornaments on the tree and a cool singing snowman and dog. I will get you some close up looks at them later this week (and maybe a video or two)! Humm... now where did mom put that remote to the TV before she went to work???

Early Hours....

Woo Woo Woo Pups, Girl Girl, and Wilber....

Well, I hope you all had a lovely Thanksgiving (if you celebrated it)! Before I start my post for today, I wanted to thank everyone for the kind wishes about my great granna. She is doing much better now. She goes back to the doctor in one week, so keep those positive thoughts coming and let's hope the bleeding in her brain has stopped.

So, after all of my turkey, dressing, sweet potatoes, steak, and other various yummy foods on Thursday, I had made plans to sleep in on Friday. Little did I know that my parents were planning something completely different. At 4 a.m. Friday morning, the alarm goes off. I sprung out of the bathtub and ran to the bed. I jumped up and looked at my parents like "What the heck?" Mom rolled out, tossed her hair in a ponytail, threw on clothes and took me outside. Then, her and dad looked at me and said, "We are going to run a quick errand." What the crapola?!?!? It is 4 a.m.; what kind of errand do you possibly have to run?

So, they were gone for what seemed like forever (ok, really only 45 minutes). They walked in the door with this huge box in their hands. Let's take a look at what Tia and I discovered.

Oh yes, as soon as they walked back in the door at 5:15 a.m., they got to work. Taking cords off the old TV, unhooking stuff, moving things around, etc. Once they got this monstrosity of a TV set up, they kicked back on the sofa with coffee. Ummm... what about going back to bed?!?!?! Tia and I were totally confused. It is ok for us to wake the humans up before the crack of dawn, but not the other way around.

Oh, to make matters worse, mom got dad to help her get all of the Christmas decorations out. Sigh! I asked when I was going to get to take a nap, and mom shrugged her shoulders and told me I could nap now. How can a Siberian possibly take a nice nap when there is clacking and banging going on - not to mention things to smell that I have not smelled in a year?

Well, I finally got to nap... around 10 a.m. when mom finished moving stuff around. We took some photos today of the Christmas tree and mantle. I will share those with you tomorrow or Tuesday. I am gonna scoot for now since the University of Georgia Football Game is on TV. I need to root on my DAWGS!

Happy Thanksgiving!!!

Woo Woo Woo every pup, Wilber, and Girl Girl. Happy Thanksgiving to you all!

If you don't know what Thanksgiving Day is - it is basically a day for friends and families to get together and enjoy each other's company. Also, it is a day to be thankful for each other and for what they have in their lives.

I know I sure am thankful for alot of things. I have two wonderful parents who give me all kinds of love and attention. I also have a roof above my head and food every morning and night. I have a sister who I adore very much.

I am also thankful for all of the friends I have made through Dogs with Blogs! This sure is a unique community and I feel blessed and honored to be a part of it. Whether you celebrate Thanksgiving Day or not, I sure hope you take a minute to appreciate all of those you have in your life

I leave you with this interesting video that I took this morning. It really has nothing to do with anything, but there are these birds called Starlings. They apparently (per dad) are migrating South. They sure did make a lot of noise!!!

Happy Thanksgiving (or Turkey) Day to all of you! Sitka

We are not missing....

Woo Woo Woo!

Several of you have posted and asked where we are. Well, I wanted to let you all know that we are ok. We are sorry that we have neglected our blog AND neglected to visit all of your blogs as well. Tia and I will be playing catch up today and tomorrow to visit and comment on all of your posts from the past week.

I did want to quickly thank my beautiful friend Momo for this awesome award she gave to me. Her friends Maya and Kena said "this award is presented to a successful blogger, one who can 'be the blog' - making it their own, staying with it, interacting with the readers, and just plain having fun." Wow, I feel honored! That is awesome. I would like to pass this award onto the Army of 4, Holly, Steve, Kat & Wilber, Meeshka, and MayaMarie. Thank you Momo for this awesome award!!!

I want to turn my blog over to my mom today to let you know some happenings over this weekend and ask that you keep our family in your thoughts.

Shelli here - Friday evening (7 p.m.), my grandmother was in a car wreck. The other driver hit her in the back right bumper and knocked the entire thing off the car. She hit her head (I think on the rear view mirror). She got out of the car to check on her sister and brother-in-law who were in the car with her. As she turned to go back to the driver's side of the car to get her purse, she fell on the pavement and busted up her hand. The Ambulance came and checked everyone out and told my grandmother than her injuries were not serious enough to go to the hospital. So, my mother and father went to pick her up at the Sheriffs office and take her home. Once they finally got home, they took off the bandage of her hand to redress it. That was when they found that ligaments were exposed in her hand!! So, onward to the hospital (which was where the ambulance should have taken her). They decided to also do a CT scan to check out her head since she had a huge hematoma on the right side. The results showed that she had some bleeding on the left side of her brain (about 3 centimeters). So, she was transferred to another hospital at 3 a.m. Saturday morning. My mom called me to come on in. So, another CT scan was preformed about 4 hours later to see if there was any change in the bleeding and her hand was stitched up (which I watched).

She was admitted into the hospital - basically for observation. She had not lost any motor skills; she was still conscious and alert. All of which was good. The NeuroSurgeon came in and decided to keep her over night, do another CT on Sunday morning, then if it was good, she would be released. One of the main concerns is that she is on Plavix (which is a blood thinner). So, they took her off that to see if it would help. Sunday morning, the NeuroSurgeon came in and said that she was stable and could go home. She would need to come see him in 2 weeks to be checked out.

Oh, and we did get the run around! This doctor could not release her because he did not admit her - TRAUMA did. Well, Trauma did not sign off on her when they admitted her to the hospital. After getting the run around from 8 a.m. Saturday morning to 3 pm Sunday afternoon, we finally were able to see a Trauma doctor and get her released. The NeuroSurgeon released her at 10:30 a.m. on Sunday morning. So, basically, Sunday was constantly complaining to people to get a doctor to come up from Trauma to release my grandmother. Believe me, we did file a complaint about the huge lack of communication!

Anyways, please keep her in your thoughts that she continues to heal properly. She just turned 79 in September, and I do want to keep her around for many years to come.

Hugs, Sitka and Shelli (oh Tia too)

Snow... well kinda.

Wooo all of my wonderful and beautiful friends...

Do you remember when mom caved and bought me a new bed??? Well about 3 weeks ago, I started a hole in it. Mom has had it folded over so that I could not get to the hole. Well, tonight, mom let me lay on my bed but she caught me red pawed. Check out these photos...

I am not sure of the fate of the bed right now. As I type, Dad is folding up my bed right now. Here is what I think will happen. I think mom will pick up the "snow", toss it in the trash can, and later attempt to sew up the rip. I am sure within 5 minutes of her sewing, I will have managed to have opened it back up! I will keep you posted on the outcome of this destruction. Mom is mumbling something to Dad about "Maybe Sitka is not mature enough for a bed of her own." WHAT!!! This is totally not fair.

Sigh! I hope you all had a nice weekend. I am going to see what trouble I can get into now, ha roooo!!

Hugs, Sitka

Frost on the Pumpkins

Oh friends... Do I have some exciting news from Georgia to share with all of you. Guess what the temperature was last night. Just guess. I will give you three guesses... come on!!! Ok, I will tell you. It was 26 F!!! Can you believe it? Oh it was awesome. I woke the parents up sometime between 5:30 and 6 this morning. Normally they don't get up until 7. But the chill in the air was calling to me and I had to go spend time with it.

So, Dad took me out but in his slumber he did not see what I saw. As soon as Mom got out of bed, she looked out the window. She rushed downstairs, tossed on a jacket and out the front door she flew! This is what she saw:

See that! Isn't it awesome??? Oh, do you see that fence? On the other side of it is where the horses live. They smell so good, but we did not see them out this morning. I wonder why? The cold air was wonderful. They should have been out basking in it like I was.

So my next mission was to accompany mom out in the backyard. Where there was not much frost there, the water left in my pool from a few days ago completely froze. You can't really tell in the photo since the frozen water was clear, but you can see some leaves in there. I was too fast for mom, but I did manage to jump into it and break the ice. That was way cool! Here I am checking it out.

Well friends, I just had to give you a quick report on our weather here right now. We have this wicked awesome cold snap and I am loving it like you don't know what. The high today did not even reach 60F!!!

Meow! Tia here...

You know... sometimes you just gotta do what you gotta do! The porch is where I need to be lately. I love the sunlight on my fur and the smells in the air. Mom allows me on the screened in porch when she is home and I soak in all I can.

She even caught me in one of my most delicate times... Bath Time! Humm, spying on one while they are taking care of business should not be allowed. Where is my attorney! MEOW!!! Oh please excuse my mom and her annoying voice & shaky hand!!! Sheesh! Where is my privacy?

Well, I hope you all enjoyed that. I must get back to basking in the sunlight!

P-update to "Oh my dogness"

Wooo all of my awesome friends... I have a p-update to my post on Wednesday, Oh My Dogness! See my best friend, Holly Bolly Banana Boo commented that I should post a video of me with my new sleeping pup friend that I am not allowed to play with.

Oh, I must say that I LOVED all of your comments about this new friend.

So, here I am in all of my snooter glory, ha rooo!!!

Sorry for the video being a bit dark and the TV being loud. Oh, I did manage on those nibbles to the ear to remove some of it's fur, ha roo!!! Well, I hope you all enjoyed that little snippet! I am going to go back on the porch and enjoy the mid 70 degrees outside with my sister!

Hugs, Sitka
