2nd Mission

Lazy days of the summer

Ok pups and Girl Girl... I have recovered from my trip to the vet. Thank you all for the comments! I appreciate them. It took until Wednesday morning for me to finally give mom a kiss! That will show her to take me to the vet again. I go to the vet, she gets deprived of love, attention, and kisses.

Not much has been going on in my house. My mom's cousin/best friend had her baby on Friday. So, I was left yesterday while mom went to help out her out with the baby. See, she had something called a c-section, so mom's friend can't even pick up the baby right now and has to have someone helping her at all times until she gets released from her doctor to lift things. So, I did alot of sleeping yesterday while mom went and helped. Wanna see this baby biped? This photo was taken on her second day being in the "real world" at the hospital.

Isn't she a cutie??? Let's see, what else? Oh, I have been spending alot of time with Tia lately. She has been in a very loving mood. (Go here to see more photos of us together). See, the other day, I was sleeping on the end of the sofa... before I knew it, here comes Tia. I do love to cuddle with her.

Abused, tormented and feeling unloved

Oh, I am not happy! Why do the ones we love (who say they love us) abuse us? I mean, is it really fair that we have to go to a place that takes our blood, pokes around in our belly, and sticks us with needles? Thank DOG that they did not have to poke in my butt (mom supplied a sample, if you know what I mean). So, I just don't understand!

You know, to show my distaste and unhappiness, I was completely unruly and showed my hiney!!! I whimpered when they took my blood. When that did not work, I snarled when they tried to give me my shots. Oh, to even show my distaste in that, I broke loose of the hold they thought they had on me and bounced about the room, with the needle still in me, like a completely insane dog.

On a good note, I passed all of my tests. No icky worms in my heart and poop! My eyes look good, other than my corneal dystrophy. The good Doc complimented my mom on keeping the ears clean and brushing my teeth because both looked great. He complimented me on my sleek and soft fur. Oh, my weight! Mom had it wrong. This time last year, I weighted 40 pounds. Today, I weighed in at 43 pounds (almost 44)! Woo Hoo! I have gained 3 pounds this year. The good vet even noticed my nice muscular thighs and said WOW! He said that I could stand to gain a few more pounds, but understands that we Siberians are very active. Mom told him that she changed my food in February and that I seem to be eating a bit more than I used to.

My mom wants to know if any other doggies out there (Girl Girl included) go to the vet and show their hiney - completely forgetting ALL manners that are displayed everywhere else they go. I really am a good dog. I just don't know what comes over me when I go into that small room. Oh, and I didn't even have to get up on the table! I think they have learned their lesson with that one.

8. Who is your best non-human friend? Other than my sister, Tia... I would say Niki the Akita. She used to live beside me but moved :(

9. Squeaky Toys or Tennis Balls? ummm... both! The Kong squeaky tennis balls rock.. and anything with stuffing is always a plus!

10. Do you like to be brushed? No, No, and No! I snarl and growl and whine like I am being abused.

11. Peanut Butter or Cheese? this is a hard question... I love both.

12. Do your people cut your toenails? Yes... but I don't like it

13. Any formal education? I had a trainer come and teach me all kinds of basic stuff.

20. When & why was the last time you went to the V.E.T.? Aug. 11, 2006... went to get my eyes checked. I go for my yearly and shots tomorrow(tuesday).

21. Where do you sleep at night? On the bed, in the bathrub, or under the bed

22. Do you like to swim? I wade and dig in my pool.

23. Can you make puppies? NO, but I like puppies.

24. Do you give kisses? ALL THE TIME!

Fun in the sun...

So every pup and Girl Girl..

Oh, today has been fun! First, mom and I helped dad get ready for work. Then it happened... mom reached for my "nose" and leash! Oh, I knew I was getting in the car. So, in I go. I ask, "Mom, where are we going?" She said, "Oh Sitka, you are about out of your food, EVO and Tia needs some more of her dry food, Innova". So, on to the cool store with the food. Ok, guess what happened while we were there??? A BIRD (click on the link and scroll all the way down to the bird at the bottom of the page) talked to me. How cool is that pups and Girl Girl? He said, "Hey there beautiful." I started searching all over the place and could not find out where the voice was coming from. Mom lead me "close" to the bird (close meaning about 30 feet) and he turned his back on me. So, mom and I turned around to put our back to the bird and it talked to us again!!! Mom will have to take her camera next time so you can hear the bird!!

Ok, when we got back, it was FUN time. Oh, another fun play time in my POOL! Mom pulled my pool up on the deck for me and boy did I have some fun.



So what did you think of that? Oh, I love water. It is so much fun. I have to say though, why do some of our humans say stupid things when the video is recording? I mean, why the heck did my mom say, "You smell like wet dog." Well DUH! I am WET hence I should smell like I am wet. Sheesh!

Wow, I love playing in my pool. I even let mom get it in with me. She stood in it with me and kicked up the water. She even scooped it up and poured it on me. Wow, that felt great!!! Especially since it is like 95 degrees today!!!

Ok this video is kind of stupid. Mom was trying to get me to play some more in the pool but I was too tired. So, she did a short demonstration of what the view would be if you were me running in circles in the pool! Warning: You may get a big dizy! Oh, I almost forgot.. right at the end you will hear a dog barking. That is my neighbor, Rosco. He is a Rat Terrier and cute as a button! But not as cute as his sister, Maybell!

Ok.... after all of that playing.. I decided it was time to dry off and head inside for a well deserved nap!!!

I love love love spending time with my mom. Thank dog she gets time off in the summer so that we can do things like this together. So, who wants to come over and play in the water with me??

A flying saucer?

Could it be a flying saucer??? Oh no friends... it is better than that! It is a soft tortilla. Oh, I love these. Mom was kind enough to give me one when she made her lunch the other day!! Check me out! Yummm.......

What was even better... Mom gave me another one. Except she made me sit and catch it before I could eat it. Wanna see me catching it? Please ignore my mom's stupid voice!!!

Mail Call.....

Ohhh... When mom got home yesterday, she announced that I had MAIL! Can you believe it? I got mail! Oh boy oh boy oh boy, "Who is it from?" Mom informed me that it was from my beautiful Pug friend, SUKI!!! Oh, I just adore little Suki. She is the cutest Pug I know!

Oh, I can't wait to see what is inside the box. What do you think it may be??? It smells very good!

Oh, I found one super cool toy. It is called a Goof Ball. It has a tennis ball on a rope. The tennis ball has an eye painted onto it. I guess it sorta fits for me, Suki, because I can act like a goof ball from time to time, ha roooo! Look at that card that Suki sent me. It is a "mini her". It smelled so good that instead of licking it, I tried to taste it! Oh, and she wrote such a sweet little note to me and my mom and dad. Now, let's talk about the cookies.. they are PEANUT BUTTER cookies and those are the best!!! Tia even tried to snag one from me.

Suki, You are one of my bestest friends!!! I hope when you move that you can swing up and see me :) You just have to. Mom took a bit of footage of me playing with my toy. I really did not mean to try to eat your card. It just smelled like you!!!

An Invader?

Woo every pup and Girl Girl....

I think that we may need to enlist in the great Army of 4 and the troopers to handle this situation at my granna's house today. See, my granna bought some fresh corn on the cob last week. Well, She shucked it then cooked the corn. She then tossed the cobs over the fence for the birds to peck on. Today.... I spotted this up in her tree....

Oh that little bugger. Troopers this is completely unacceptable. Don't you agree? Turbo, I think that the banning of squirrels should be on your list of things to do when you become president.

I have taken one small step to try to ward off the evil squirrel. What do you guys think?

I scarred him away, but I fear that there will be more to come. Amber, do they make Squirrel-be-gone like they make bunny-be-gone?

Mom is working hard at teaching me about Photoshop... well, she is getting some help from Turbo and his mom. I wanted to share with you a little picture that mom helped me create.

Squash...

I have told you in the past that I love Squash!!! This past weekend when Mom and Dad went to Kroger, they brought back some of that beautiful yellow stuff! See, immediately when it appears, I go into a trance.


As mom laid it out on the cutting board, I sat at her feet waiting for a taste of it to grace my mouth!



Oh yes... my turn! I was so excited that I about took off mom's fingers.

Pretty yummy looking huh? Next, mom gave me half of a squash! I immediately took it to the den, played with it a bit, then jumped on my sofa to enjoy!

Then mom got out that video camera AGAIN! It is so good.

If you have never had it before, you definitely should get your human to give you a taste. I will do ANYTHING for a taste of it... uncooked or cooked!!!

Nubbley Cherry Tomato

Ha roo everyone..... Mom and Dad went to Kroger this weekend. Every now and then, they find the great Nubbley Cherry Tomato. So, you may be wondering what the heck it is. Here, have a look...

Ok.. so now you have officially met the Nubbley Cherry Tomato. It is basically a squeaky toy that is LOUD! Mom and Dad come up with some crazy names for some of my toys, and this is one of the funniest ones, I think! Well, after squeaking it until I kill the squeaker, I have to be watched closely because I start to eat the nubbley spikes!!! Let's just say that sometimes mom and dad think I have not eaten any of them until they see my poop!!! ha roooo!!

Ok, do you want to hear how loud it is? In this footage, I am inspecting all of the grocery bags looking for my prize. Note: Mom and Dad do not have to instruct me to do this. I do it every time they bring in groceries. I always think I get a prize.. and 99% of the time, I do :)

Goody... A new Stuffie (that I can't have)

Well friends.... There was a Siberian Rescue that was having an auction and mom won one of the items!! The rescue is SOS-SRF (Save Our Siberians - Siberspace Rescue Fund). It is "an organization which raises and disburses funds to assist Siberian Husky rescue groups and individuals with non-routine expenses incurred for rescue dogs". (Taken from their website).

Ok, so would you like to know what I won... er, I mean, what WE won?

Oh, isn't it adorable? So are you ready to learn more about it? It is very special for alot of reasons!!!

So, twice a year (I think) SOS-SRF has an auction and they get all kind of cool people to donate awesome items. There were ALOT of things that mom wanted, but I told her we could not get everything because we needed to give other people a chance to get something special. Oh, Holly got something COOL! Wait until she tells you about it! Ok, so back to this stuffie. Here was the description of it: This soft and cuddly reclining Siberian Husky wears one of Karen Ramstead's 2006 Iditarod bandanas. The Douglas Cuddle Toy is about 12" long and the red maple leaf bandanna is 7" x 14". Cheryl received it for sponsoring one of Karen's dogs and is donating it to our auction. So wanna know who Karen Ramstead is? She is a great Iditarod racer who races an ALL SIBERIAN HUSKY TEAM! She has successfully completed THREE Iditarods. Here is Tia and myself modeling the bandanna that is on the Siberian stuffie. Mom said this was the ONLY time we could wear it because the stuffie had to wear it. Humm... I don't really understand why???

So, I asked mom why I could not wear it always. She explained to me that it contained another surprise that was not mentioned in the description for the auction. It is autographed by Karen!!! I exclaimed, "That is awesome!!!" So, I now understand why I can't wear it and get it all dirty. Check it out!

So, pretty cool auction item, huh? Well, I am still plotting to swipe it and play with it, but I am caught in the act every stinkin' time. SUPER Hugs to all of my great friends!!!!

The iPod Haik-woo

Woo Woo Everyone....

Well, it was another lazy day yesterday. Mom did some laundry, while Tia and I supervised. Well, Tia did more than supervised. Do you remember the time we helped mom around the house and Tia laid on the clothes? So, as I was supervising, I was checking out the tunes on mom's iPod. I have to say, there were some pretty good songs. So (drum roll please), I felt the need to write my 2nd Haik-woo (per Dave's rules).

So, after checking out the tunes, I decided to either keep mom's or demand that I get one of my own!!! Ok, I gotta run and take a nap! I hope you pups and Girl Girl have a great Thursday.

Oh the embarrassment...

Woo every pup and Girl Girl too!

Mom and I were thumbing through old pictures of me in hopes of doing a comparison of how my mask has changed in the past 3 years. Instead, we stopped on some shameful photos. I told mom to stop looking for whatever she was looking for. I had found what I wanted to post.

Now, I love my mom and she always does the best things for me, but this time.... well, she went over the edge. Last September, she ordered me a UGA bandanna and Tia a UGA sweater. She measured just like the instructions told her to do, and when the sweater came, it was way to large for Tia. So, she thought it would be funny to see what I would look like in clothes.

First off, I am a SIBERIAN! I have TWO coats of fur. I don't need a stinkin' sweater ... especially in GEORGIA! Anyways, I hung my head and let her do it. To humiliate me more, she took photographs. Here is the first one of me. Notice how my head is turned. I could not even bring myself to look at her.

To make matters worse, she asked me to get on the sofa so she could take another photograph. I ask you, "Do I look like a happy camper????"

So, after all of this humiliation, she did give me a cookie, but not before she took off that darn sweater!!!

So, what the heck was she thinking? I think this is a form of abuse! I mean, she did give me a cookie, but she embarrassed me in the process! Needless to say, I never let her do this to me again. I actually used to carry this sweater around the house. Last mom saw of it was a few months ago. She will never know what I did with it!!!

Oh Tia...

Woo everyone...

I thought that I would turn today's blawg over to my sister, Tia. Tasha and Eva have left me several comments in the past stating that they would like to hear more from Tia. I also know that Zim likes cats too, so, in light of this and because I love my sister... She can have today's post!!

Meow all, Tia here. This weekend was great! The BEST part of it was when dad made CHICKEN STIR FRY! Now, there are more than one reason why I get excited when this happens. First off, I LOVE CHICKEN! When I was younger, I never cared for human food. Probably in the past 4-5 years I have really discovered it. Well, chicken is a favorite. I can be upstairs and either chicken can be removed from the fridge, or dad will bring home take-out home and HERE I come just a running! Then, if I do not get what I want right away, I let out a BIG meow. If that does not work, well, as Meeshka would put it, the CLAW comes out! Oh yes, and I have ALL of mine and they help me get what I want!

Ok, so the next best part of stir fry is VEG-A-TABLES! I was a bit upset with this batch that dad made because it contained NO carrots. I LOVE carrots. BUT, it did have other yummy veggies in it that SMELL very good. Check me out trying to get the veggie smell from dad's hands. You know, I love veggies so much that my new can food that mom switched me to (Innova Reduced Fat Can and Dry food) has VEGGIES in it. It has potatoes, carrots, broccoli, apples and much more fun stuff!!!



Oh, did you enjoy that? Now, let me explain what mom said at the end. She said," Oh, let me hump you." Well, when I move up against something (perhaps a humans leg) and rub against it with my side and "hump" up my back... Mom says, "Oh, Hump sweet girl. Humper dumper (translation, let me hump and dump my love all over you)." I have never been a people cat, so, when I "hump" you, it is a sign of my affection. Weird, I know, but oh well.

Vet Visits.....

Woo Hoo everyone (and Girl Girl too)...

My mom asked that I do a favor for her since I go to see my vet for my yearly check-up and shots at the end of this month. She asked me to post some questions for her concerning vet visit tests and heartworm medicines.

She would like to know the following from all of you smart pups out there:

1. What all tests do you have done on you? Mom wonders if there is anything else that she should have tested on me. Per my bill from last year, I received the following - Heartworm/Lyme/Ehrlichia Tests, Intestinal Parasite Exam, Rabies Shot, Annual DHPPC and annual welliness exam.

2. When mom took Tia last August to the vet (although she was a very sick kitty), she had a full Chem Profile/CBC ran on her. Should mom have a full blood work-up done on me every year (even if I am healthy or appear to be healthy after my yearly exam)???

3. Mom has heard from some other pup's moms that they use Interceptor over Heartgard. What do you use? I have been on Heartgard since I was allowed to start taking it (I am 3 right now).

Well friends... sorry there is nothing more exciting to report for today. I can say that last night, we got about 15 minutes of RAIN! We have been about 48 days without rain, so last night the humans opened up the porch door so they could hear it!!!
