Woo Pups and Girl Girl...

This past weekend I went to this place called Hilton Head Island in South Carolina. Wow, I never have been out of the state of Georgia until now. Cool huh? Well, Dad had a conference thingy to go to... so you know what that means?? Mom and I get to tag along and check out the city.... well in this case... an ISLAND. Wow!

I found some interesting things on this visit. I hope you think they are as cool as I think they are! On our drive to South Carolina, we had to stop and go to the bathroom. Hey, it is a 3.5 hour drive. A girl has to go potty. Well, as I was doing what nature intended, I saw out of the corner of my eye something looking at me.

Oh my dog! What the heck is that? I asked dad and he said "It is an Emu. Otherwise known as a large flightless bird"..... "A 'E' what", I responded. I asked Dad if I could play with it and he told me no that I was only allowed to look at it.

Oh dog, you will never believe it. While Dad was driving, we passed two 18 wheeler trucks. One said ZIM the side and the other said TEX on the side. I tried my best to flag them down because I thought Zim and Texas were in the trucks. Next, before I knew it, the air changed. Oh, it smells so good! The ocean. Really, if you have never smelled it before, you need to.

Soon after, we reached the Island. We checked into the hotel and I encountered another very interesting thing. Mom and Dad called it the "Magic Siberian Transporter". I have never seen one of these before. Have you??? It took me from one floor to the next like magic.



After Dad had one of his classes, we went out to dinner. Mom found this awesome restaurant called Captain Woodies! Ha roo!! They are super dog friendly. I urge you, if you wanna have a laugh, to check out their HOUSE RULES on their website, ha rooooo! While we were waiting to be seated, we looked out at the marina. Next, mom spotted a pineapple fountain. She has a love for pineapples so she had to take a photo of it. While there, I met a small dog wearing a pink outfit. Then, I met a Golden Retriever. He was so sweet and told me all of the secrets. He was a local and had been hanging out at this restaurant with his human for about 2 years. I had to say bye to this chap and head to my table where I got PLENTY of rubbies!



Whew! What a long day. I found so many interesting things. We got back to the hotel and Mom gave me a pork ear and I passed out on the bed!

Ok, Day 2 of this little 2 day trip. So, we got up, took dad to his last class and we checked out the dog park.

That was fun but boy was I tired and hot. It was very humid at 9 a.m.!!! I did meet lots of interesting doggies. Mom's camera battery died, so she did not get any photos of those friends that I met. Sheesh. You would think she would bring extra batteries, wouldn't ya??

Next, I found this fascinating find - a massive tree trunk. Look how it is all intertwined in itself. I even tried to figure it out, but I was not able to figure out how to get through. Then, finally, I found a portion to jump over.....On our way to Tail Waggers, I had to stop and get some Ice Cream.

Ok, now Dave... this is all for you. While I was at Tail Waggers, which is a pet store and bakery for animals, I found the best cookie of all. It is not as good as the real thing, but I think it will do in a pinch!!! Hey Ma.... go get Dave because I see.....

Oh yes... that is a WATERMELON Cookie! Can you believe it??? It is the next best thing to actual watermelon. Oh, the other cookies on the plate - I think everyone will like those as well. The two small ones that are orange are Carrot 'n Cheddar cookies. The one with the white icing is a BANANANANNANANA Biscotti cookie with frosting. Oh my dogness! I found bakery heaven! The lady there was so nice and gave me cookies as mom shopped! We did not forget Tia on this trip. Mom found this little cat nip toy that looks like a piece of bubble gum!!! I am not sure if Tia was happier to smell that or our bags, ha roooo!

Well friends.... Sorry this was a long post, but I had alot to report on. I did get something else cool at Tail Waggers, but I will save that for another post!!! What a fun trip to the Island. I can't wait to go again.

Pressies from Texas in Australia

Woo Woo Woo Every Pup and Girl Girl...

Guess what I got in the mail today? A box full of pressies from Texas in Australia! Oh my dogness.... I can't believe what all was in there. Here I am reading my very sweet note from Texas. He even stamped his paw print at the bottom, ha roo!


Can you believe all of these pressies? He even sent some pressies for Tia and Mom. Isn't that so sweet?

Ok, we will get to all of these pressies... but the one that is not in the picture above is in the picture below around my neck. You know, I have never worn anything that was Purple before, but I think the color really looks awesome on me. What do you all think?

Oh friends, this toy was just awesome. It is a rat that moves! Can you believe it? Mom helped me take some videos of Tia and the rat. Check it out. (Sorry for the poor quality. It was hard for mom to hold the camera, make the mouse move and keep me out of the way, ha roo).

This next video mom found some books to set the camera on. Check out how the rat takes a spill off the coffee table, ha roo!

Ok friends... You know, I have looked more at this rat and I don't think it is a rat. I think it is a Hamsterberian named GIRL GIRL. Whoa... did Texas sent Girl Girl to me? Oh my dogness. What do you all think?

Tia also got some more toys. She got some mice. They have squeakers in them which make them more fascinating to me. But Mom told me that I could not play with them because they were Tia's.
Oh this has to be one of the most awesome toys EVER! It is a bone, but feels like a tennis ball, but is not round. It is really fun to chew on!

Oh my goodness. Texas also included some treats for me. Let me tell you that I turned circles for them, literally. Mom got a bit of video of me having a sample of both of them.

Check out these pawphans that Texas sent to my mom. She got a German Shepherd, an Airedale Terrier, and a grey kitty kat that looks like my brother, Simi. Cool, huh? I tried my best to steal one to play with it, but my mom is too fast and took it from my mouth.

Thank you so much Texas for being so generous with all of these pressies. You are so sweet and thoughtful. Tia, Mom and I love all of the pressies! Hugs and Kisses!!!

Yes, finally a bed!

Woo every pup and Girl Girl....

Guess what? The human woman finally caved! She finally bought me a new dog bed. After a touch over 2.5 years of her claiming that she would never buy me another dog bed.... she finally did.

So, a bit of history for you. When mom and dad first brought me home, she bought this huge bed. (You can go to this link, scroll down to see the photo of me upside down on my red/pinkish and white bed.) So, after about 2 months (keep in mind, I am about 15-17 weeks at this time), I decided that digging in my bed would be super fun. So, I dug and dug and dug and finally a hole appeared. Beneath the hole was wonderful white stuff, like snow. So, I decided that I must pull it out. Then I would be caught, mom would gather the stuffing, re-stuff the bed, and sew up the hole. Mere seconds later, I would start digging the seam until I broke through, and the white stuff appeared again. Repeat, Repeat, Repeat. Finally, mom tossed that bed in the trash. Enter bed #2 - same process happened. Enter bed #3 - same process again! Then the words that I hoped to never hear - "Until you become a big girl and can learn how to care for your property, you will not get another bed." Sigh...

So, she caved! She came home on Saturday from running to the store with this nice fluffy bed! Here I am inspecting it in the kitchen.

So, almost immediately when mom took it to the den... here comes Tia. She smelled it, walked all over it, and instantly laid down on it, took a bath, and then a nap. Umm.. I thought this was MY bed? Why is the cat on it?

So, after several hours, I wanted nothing to do with the darn bed. I mean, why do I need a bed? I have my sofa, and my bed in the bedroom that I share with mom and dad.

Ok, so finally, I decided the bed was "ok" after I saw Tia, yet again, taking a nap on it. So, I got off the sofa and went over to the bed. I walked on it, did several circles and PLOP!

Ok, so maybe this bed is not so bad! It is made of this nice suede material. Mom is hoping that I don't destroy it. Only time will tell. Right now, I am spending more time on the sofa than on that bed. The truth is that I do like it, but I want to keep mom guessing.

So, how many of you out there have destroyed beds when your parents brought one home for you???

Ouch Mom...

Well every pup and Girl Girl...

On Sunday, mom held me down (along with Dad) and clipped my dew claws. They get so sharp and I love to use them to claw the parents when I want something. They don't think it is too funny.

So, while mom was getting ready to clip my 2nd dew claw, I jerked and jumped and guess what happened.... This....



Umm... do you see that blue bandage on my left paw? Oh yes, the woman drew blood! Blood I tell ya. The vet is the only person who is allowed (ok, maybe allowed is not the best word to use) to take my blood. The woman was so worried that she got my skin or something. But I would not hold still long enough for anything. I walked about dripping little tiny drops of blood everywhere. So, finally dad got a hold of me, mom inspected and figured she got my cuticle when I jerked as she clipped. So, she put a little gauze on my nail and put this blue vet tape stuff around me... then gave me a PORK EAR! Honestly, she was more hurt than me.

I am much better and I don't blame mom. But maybe this will teach her a lesson - the clippers are BAD and must be tossed in the garbage can!

P.S. Meow everyone - Tia here - Thanks for all of your comments regarding to MY toy that Sitka destroyed. I would like to let you all know that I actually do like tennis balls. I often will carry Sitka's around the house. Hey, what can I say, I am unique, meow!!!

I am Tia, hear me MEOW...

Let me start off by saying, "Sometimes sisters can be a real pain in the, well you know what." The other day, Mom was outside taking care of some outside stuff. I really have no idea what she was doing since I don't leave the house. Well, I was curled up on my ottoman with my toy from Boy n Baby. In walked the furry beast (a phrase used from Wilber). I tried to fight her off... but she stole my toy. Allow me to take a moment to remind you how happy I was with my toy (and what it looked like)...

Don't I look so happy. I got a beautiful toy from some super friends and I loved playing with ALL of it. Ok, so where was I... Oh, I tried to fight off the furry beast. It was a sneak attack. She came up behind me, stretched her long neck, and in a flash, my toy disappeared from my side. I meowed with all of my might, but she ignored me as usual. I called out for Mom, but she didn't hear me because she was outside. I watched it happen before my very little green eyes... feathers flying everywhere......

Oh, just look at that. I was so upset. Where is my attorney? I want to sue! I gave her several lectures, but she just rolled around in the feathers and I think she was laughing at me. The nerve of her. She has baskets and baskets and baskets of toys. Why does she have to go after my toys?? I just don't understand it. So, mom came in from outside and spotted the destruction. There stood Sitka right in the middle of it. YES, caught red handed with a feather in her mouth. I was super excited. So, mom cleaned up the feathers from the floor. Mom put what was left of the rat toy beside me on my ottoman, and here comes Sitka again... well, not to take what was left of MY toy, but to give me one of hers...

Well, I guess I can forgive her....

Woo Woo Woo Every pup and Girl Girl...

So, Mom was playing with me the other day. She was on the floor looking up at Tia and taking these photos...

HA ROO, Doesn't she look funny and cute at the same time??? So, mom rolled over from the chair Tia was on to MY sofa that I was laying on. She laid on the floor, turned camera a funky angle and said, "WOOO Sitka, What are you doing?" Ha roo, it was the moment I had been waiting for. I stood up, she started to press the button to photo me, and much to her surprise, I jumped off the sofa right onto her!!!!!

I am so silly! But, did you look at my face? I mean, look at those eyes, that smile... wow, I was happy. I was so proud of what I had done. Mom was not thrilled with the unexpected pounce, but she was not mad. I mean, she really asked for it. Why do you lay on the floor beside my dismounting space from the sofa. Sigh! Anyroo... Just wanted to share some funny photos with you!

Oh, I wanted to let you know that I love all of you! I am so sorry that I have not visited your blog this week. Mom started back dance this week, so she has been busy. Tomorrow when she gets home from work, I promise she and I will read all of your posts! KISSES!

Another tag, woo hoo

Woo Woo every pup and Girl Girl... Magic and Georgie tagged us a while back (sorry so late), so we wanted to post our answers to the questions :)

SITKA

1) Where is your favorite place to sleep? Anywhere the human is. I like to think I am attached at the hip to my mom. So, whatever room she is in, I am right there with her. At night, I sleep on the bed, in the tub or under the bed.

2) Is there a specific trick you humans make you do to get treats? Well, not really a trick. I have to sit. Sometimes she makes me down, or shake hands. I enjoy it though :) Sometimes she doesn't even have to ask me to sit. She gives me a look and I sit :)

3) If you could spend an entire day doing anything at all with anyone, what would you do and with whom? I would ove to go to my granna's house to play with the 3 Shih Tzus - Chloe. Mom and dad used to let me go when I was small, but as I got bigger than the pups, I was no longer allowed to go because I wanted to play alot and they were old and grouchy. Now I am left almost every Sunday for lunch while my parents go there to visit.

4) What is your favorite toy? The nubbley cherry tomato or the rockstar nubbley - really anything that makes alot of noise, ha roo!

5) If you could change one thing in your life, what would it be? I would change the weather in GA. 3 days ago it was 102, 2 days ago it was 103, yesterday was 105 (but we saw 108 at one time), and today was 103.

TIA

1) Where is your favorite place to sleep? On my ottoman downstairs, in the bed on my mom's pillow, or in my cat tree where I can overlook my front yard.

2) Is there a specific trick you humans make you do to get treats? Sometimes if mom says "Look at the pretty", I will roll over to show my belly. Most of the time, I just get what I want without having to do anything :)

3) If you could spend an entire day doing anything at all with anyone, what would you do and with whom? I would spend the day at my house, like always, by myself. Because the furry beast (a term Wilber uses) annoys me sometimes. In addition, I would allow my mom to remain at home with me and every 30 minutes give me belly rubs and food :)

4) What is your favorite toy? Sitka. I like to thwack her when she walks by me.

5) If you could change one thing in your life, what would it be? I wish the furry beast would stop begging me for money. I will have to tell the money story another time. I have to keep my loyal readers coming back :)

I got another parcel :)

Wow, I have to be the luckiest pup around. I have such wonderful friends. You will never guess what came in the mail the other day? A parcel from Boy n Baby. See, they sent a parcel to me back in June and we thought it was lost, so they mailed another one. Then the lost one was found! They are the sweetest Shih Tzus!!! Here is Tia and myself checking out the package. Something in it smells good and makes fun sounds!!!

Oh, here is what the sound was? Check this out. It is a springy toy with all of these loops. The two ends look like bones and have squeakers in it. Even better, when I shake it in my mouth, the springy part of it goes all sorts of ways. I have yet to do this while mom has the video camera... but I promise, I will try to help her out get some footage.

Moving on to the smell good portion of this post. Oh my dogness! There were these pizza treats that smelled like heaven. Wow, they taste just as good as they smell. And there were BANANANANANNANANA Biscuits! Oh my dog! I MUST get some more of them. Tia even tried to take them from me.

Oh, so Tia was not left out either. Boy n Baby sent her some yummy smelling Salmon treats. They smell like my Yummy Chummies!!! She meowed at mom after she smelled the bag and wanted more than mom gave her to eat.

Oh friends, she also got a great toy. I tried my best to play with it. It has these beautiful feathers all over it. I wanted to bite it, but mom told me nononono. Oh well, Sitka sure loves it, and we sure are lucky to have such awesome friends.

See what I mean about the tail on that rat toy? Wow, that sure is Sibe-a-licious, but I was not allowed to play with it. Boy n Baby also sent us a sweet little note. It said, "Dear Sitka and Tia, Hope that you like the toys n treats! The bone biscuit is for Sitka. It is suppose to banana flavoured. Love, Boy n Baby." Thank WOO Boy n Baby again for the totally awesome pressies!!!

I also want to say to all of my friends that I am sorry for my post of "I'm back", then I disappear again. My mom's very best friend's grandmother passed away on Tuesday. Mom has been helping her friend with some things, then she had to go to something called visitation, then go to a funeral. Now, to top off that, my dad's step-grandmother passed away this morning at 4 a.m., so, mom has another visitation and funeral to attend. Please send some good thoughts and prayers to my mom's friend and to our family. Again, I am sorry that I said I was back, the went missing in action.

I have missed you all, and know I love you all! It took my alot of time this past week to catch up on what all you have been doing. I enjoyed doing it, but wow, being out of the blogging world for 6 days really is a set back, ha rooo!!!

I'm bbbbbaaaaaacccccckkkkkkk!!!!!

Woo Hoo Every Pup and Girl Girl... I am BACK!!! Whew! Boy did I miss my mom while she was out of town with her friends. Every year they go to the BEACH together. This year they went to Gulf Shores, AL. Every year they go somewhere different and this year was their 4th year doing this. I am a girl, how come I didn't get to go on the "girl's beach trip"??? Man, I wish I could have gone. Digging in the sand is SOOOO fun.

Well, anyroo.... Mom is home. I had much fun with Dad, but I love my mom. Tia and I would not take our eyes off of her when she got home yesterday. Oh, Dad was happy to see her too.

Oh friends, she did bring me home two FUN FUN FUN toys and some pork ears. Check out this one toy, it is like a big jack and it has squeakers in it ;) Don't I look soooo happy???


Mom also took a photo of the boardwalk pier that was washed out by one of the Hurricanes that came through a few years back. It was either Ivan or Katrina (I need to bone up on my Hurricane history). Someone apparently decided to leave what remained of the boardwalk thingy. Check it out...

I promise I will check out everyone's blogs. I sure missed all of you. Dad did not let me get on the puter at all while mom was gone. What a bummer!!! Oh, also while mom was gone, a few prizes that I had won from Steve, Kat and Wilber's Blogathon arrived. I got a pink pig squeaky toy, an Adopt a Husky Dallas coaster, and Tia got some fun cat toys.

Love to you all! I am gonna go spend some more time with my mom. I missed all of you (mom said she missed you all too). And I am gonna read up on your blogs tonight and tomorrow and see what you have been up too!
