Truffles!!!

Happy New Years Eve Friends! Remember last year when I helped mom make an Apple Cake? Well this year we are making Truffles! MMMMMM! I love to help mom in the kitchen, but Cornelia Marie has really become the sous-chef of the family. She is in the kitchen everytime mom and dad are... I have really become the supervisor of the kitchen!

Anyroo... I wooed my orders to mom to get the pawty started!

Then after watching for a while, I decided to go get on the sofa. Here is Cornelia Marie making sure the truffle balls look ok.

Ohhhh! Now here comes the fun part. The decorating. Let's take a look at our options...

We have chocolate that needs to be melted. Also, I see some white chocolate. Humm... there isn't much of that. Maybe mom is going to use it for drizzling, you think? Now, moving on to the powdered stuff. We have cocoa powder and powdered sugar. Yummm!

Now we need something for the truffles to go on. Ah ha, I have the perfect idea.

And... take a look at these! Don't they look good! The white chocolate didn't do as mom wished because she didn't have enough of it. Oh well!

Wait a tick (ha roo... did you catch that phrase from Austin Powers movies???).... there is chocolate in this? You mean I have been slaving in the kitchen all day and I can't have any? Humm.... Well, I will just go back to dreaming of Zim.

Woo know his Honorary Birthday is tomorrow, right?? Now if I can only figure out how to drive the car to Kansas to give him a smooch, ha rooo!

I wanted to share with you all my singing voice. See, every afternoon when The Andy Griffith Show comes on, I perk up and watch the TV. But when the ending credits roll... that is when I get all excited. I stop what I am doing... run toward the TV and watch it. Mid ways through the credits, I begin my singing! Merry Christmas and Happy Holidays!

Woo!

We would like to wish all of our friends a Merry Christmas and Happy Holiday Season. For those of you who celebrate Hanukkah, we wish you a Happy one as well! We wanted to share with you part of our Christmas card that mom sent out this year. Cornelia Marie and I really put our heads together and came up with a fun little song. Unfortunately, the snow has not arrived but we are still hoping.

Harbor Report: Checking under the tree

Wooo!

Are woo all getting ready for the holidays? I sure am.

I have been doing alot of helping around the house....Helping mom in the kitchen cook (I am her personal sous-chef you know), clean up, do laundry, etc. You know, helpful stuff. She folds laundry, I unfold it. See! Helpful. But I think one of my most important jobs is keeping a watchful eye over the Christmas Tree.

I also guard the presents under the tree.

Just yesterday I tried to unwrap a present under the tree. Well, I had to see if it was mine. I can't help that my toe nail accidentally poked a hole in it so I could take a peek. Mom picked it up and muttered something about "Maybe I can find a bow so I don't have to rewrap". Sheesh. I was just trying to see if it was mine.

What? I am just sitting here looking cute, right? HA ROO! I can't wait to play in all of the paper. Sitka tells me that is the coolest part!!! Well, I need to get back to work, ha rooo.

Oh, but before I go.... Sunday was my mom's birthday!!! She wants to thank everyone for leaving her comments wishing her a happy day!!! Yesterday (Monday) was my 8 month birthday. Can you believe it? And today is my granna's birthday! HAPPY BIRTHDAY!!!

Sleepy Puppy

Wooooo!

I thought I would share a few photos of the little one. So this evening, she was playing with her puppy wubba. Well, she FELL ASLEEP with the thing in her mouth. She cracks me up sometimes. Check her out!

Now isn't that a sight? I have never fallen asleep with a toy in my mouth before. Anyroo, I just wanted to share a funny photo with all my friends!!!

Tag and Award

Woo!!!

We have two important things to report on today! First, my cousin, Turbo, tagged all of us in a new photo game. Ok, he is CM's unkey too! Anyroo, here's what this game is about: You go to where your photos are on your computer and then go to the 6th folder and pick the 6th picture and then post it along with the story behind it.

This photo is from Christmas last year. Mom found this Santa hat that she thought would go perfect on Tia. Let's just say that Tia was NOT amused on this happening.

Next, the Army of Four presented us ladies with a pawsome award!!! The write-up on this award reads, "This blog invests and believes the PROXIMITY - nearness in space, time and relationships! Tolerating the Puppy

Meow! How is every kitty, pup, and hamster? I tell ya what... putting up with this puppy can be hard work. I am constantly having to remind her what she is allowed to do and what she isn't allowed to do. Will she ever remember?

Well Mom is on her Christmas break, so I decided to come downstairs for a visit... a visit to see the puppy! I mean, I guess I have to admit that she is cute as a button. Don't ya think?

So I decided to humor her and see what she wanted to discuss.

Apparently Cornelia Marie had to whisper the message to me. OK, I will allow that. As long as she does not put my head in her mouth.

Well what do you know! She didn't put her mouth on my head. She was VERY sweet and well behaved. I could not believe it. So I took it upon myself to have a little play session with her. We batted each other with our paws (I did not extend my sharp claws) through the banister ... Oh, I did give her a little nip on the paw just to keep her in line (see video after this next photo). It was fun and we had a "moment".

Sweet huh? Oh, here is that video! Mom missed all of the playing, but she did get a small amount on this video.



Well it is back to a nap for me!

My Left Hip

Wooo Puppers, Kit-Kats, and Hamsters... I hope you all had a FAB weekend! It has been pretty quiet around here lately... except for last Friday. Mom took me to the vets for some hip x-rays! She was a little concerned with the funny walk I had been doing. Sometimes I would walk like I was a little stiff legged!

Anyroo, mom wanted to have me checked out to make sure I didn't have anything weird going on. So, they x-rayed my knees, feet, and hips and didn't find anything too awful. They did find that the femoral head of my left hip doesn't sit in as far as the right one does. They said this is why my gate may be "off" at times. They said this was a minor problem and should not require any surgery. I may develop some arthritis when I get older, so mom started me on Cosequin DS to get a head start! Here is some more "technical" stuff on my hips from my mom....

Sitka's Vet said that on a scale of 1 to 4, she would rate Sitka's left hip issue a 1 (the least serious). The femoral head is not scraping or striking the acetabulum, and is not in danger of dislocating. It is about 1/2 seated inside the hip, but to pass the OFA test they would prefer it to be 3/4. There's no evidence of any arthritic changes, but she could develop some arthritis in the future. We'll just have to watch it.

Sitka's Vet also said that moderate exercise is OK, just not to overdo it (stairs are OK in moderation, for example). Sitka weighs 46.1 lbs, up three lbs from end of June. Makes sense because she is finally eating regular meals! Her Vet was not concerned with the weight gain once we explained how her eating had changed. We also told her that her exercise had increased as well because she had a play mate in the house on "her level".

I am very glad that we took Sitka in so that we know what is going on, and hopefully we can prevent somethings down the road.

Sitka again... So, this weekend was pretty "chill" since I was a bit sore from the moving they did to me for the x-rays! Cornelia Marie and I have wanted to PLAY PLAY PLAY but mom has told us we needed to take it easy. Ok... so, how is this for taking it easy?

Ahhh I love my little sister! Another cool thing! I got a new bed out of this hip deal! Mom found a memory foam dog bed at Walmart this weekend for 40 bucks! Can you believe it? It is pretty comfy, I have to admit. Well, I need to continue reading your blogs... I am almost caught up...again!

Harbor Repor: Hard at Work

Woooooo!

I hope that everypup, kitty, and hamster are doing well. And if you celebrated Thanksgiving Day last week, I hope it was a nice one.

Guess what I did last week? The day after Thanksgiving, Sitka told me that Mom puts up something called a Tree and other fun and cool stuff. Well apparently Sitka told me there were steps in helping Mom out with this fun activity. Let me share them with woo!

Step 1 - Supervise Mom putting up the tree. Inspect it, then take a nap in the same position!

Step 2 - Once you have helped put on the pretty ornaments, and even take one, two, or four off, promptly lay on the tree skirt and look cute!
Step 3 - Once you have been replaced by presents under the tree, quickly destroy one of the wrapping paper tubes!!!

Step 4 - Humor Mom in thinking that she can get a good photo of you in front of the tree!

Step 5 - Immediately get on the hearth and play "Spin a Stocking".

Step 6 - Take a closer look at the presents under the tree! Whoops! You mean I can't unwrap them? Well, I did swipe some tissue paper and that was fun to shred!

Step 7 - Final step - Take a tree lit nap!
