Woooo friends....

We wanted to wish you all a Merry Christmas Eve. We are just hanging out by the window waiting on Santa Paws. We hope that he is good to all of our friends this year! I won't lie, I have snooted under the tree but I have yet to find anything that smells like it would be for me. I really hope Santa brings me something yummy to my tummy tonight :)

P.S. Sitka wishes that Santa would bring Zim to her! Shhhhhh don't tell her I said that!!!

Santa Tia?

Meow Friends,

While the puppers have been helping Mom set up decorations, they also pulled out one of my very special kitchen decorations. It is a spoon rest. Wanna take a look?
MEOW! Isn't this the coolest thing ever??? Dad bought it for Mom many years ago. Well, I need to get back to my nap! Oh, and Mom had a very nice birthday yesterday!

Woo Friends,

I hope you all are having a great Holiday Season so far! Mine is off to a rockin' start! Mom has been off work for a week now and will be for the next 2! I am the luckiest pup ever!

So between now and then... I am going to prepare for my 2nd Christmas. I wonder what Santa Paws will bring to me? Snow perhaps? The forecast is making small mention of something Christmas Eve night. That is all I will say about that!
Speaking of dreaming.... I better think of what I am going to get Mom for her birthday on Monday! I need to go consult with my sisters, I suppose.

Catch you all soon!!!

Checking out the decorations

Wooo Friends,

Mom pulled out our tree and decorations the day after Thanksgiving. We, of course, assist with this process. Lots of snootering to do with stuff that has been packed up for almost a year. So, once we finished assisting, we stepped back and checked out our work.

Let's start upstairs. Mom puts a tree in our bedroom for Tia.

Doesn't she look cute sitting under her tree? Just this morning, somehow she removed an ornament from the tree and was batting it around the bedroom. Silly kitty!

Oh CM! She loves to get into it all. As mom was putting the ornaments on the tree, CM was trying to take off with boxes that some of the ornaments are in. And yes, she did put her head in the tree!
Tia even came down to check out the tree downstairs. Here she is admiring the hard work!
And finally, here I am checking out the flag on the Court House! (Keep in mind, when CM checks it out, she tries to put it in her mouth. Typical child!)

Hope you enjoyed seeing some of our decorations! Stay tuned! Mom promises us that she will get out the video and get some footage of us inspecting the Happy Tappers! Just you wait :)

Hiking in the Fall

Wooo Friends,

Sorry we have been absent from blogging and from reading your blogs. I suppose we are going to have to steal Mom's calendar and enter us in so she will remember to assist us with this. Sigh!

Anyroo, a few weeks ago we set out to a place called High Falls for some hiking. It was a lovely day and well, Mom and Dad said they were looking for a way to tire us out. We wanted to share some photos with you all from our outing.

Check out this water. Too bad we could not get in it.

Ahhh here are our fluffy tails with Dad!

Ducks! For some reason we were not allowed to go with Mom when she took this photo.

Look how lovely!!!

Oh a lizard! Mom said there were tons of them on the rocks!

This used to be the old Power House. Mom could not get close as there was a fence around it.

Hope you enjoyed seeing some of the many photos Mom took. Hope you all (if you celebrate it) have a great Thanksgiving Holiday!

Siberian Tomato

Wooo Friends.

Once again we have fallen behind. Behind on blogging and reading. Oh so sorry! In other news, I wanted to share with you all my Siberian Tomato. Note, I am referring to it as mine! I mean, I helped plant it. I helped water it. I helped harvest it. It is mine, right?

Well, it sure is pretty and it tastes GREAT but there isn't any fir on it. How can something called Siberian not have fur?

Oh, also we have tons of bananananananana peppers. Mom keeps telling me that despite their name, they are not banananananas.

There is my garden update. We still have TONS of tomatillos, cherry tomatoes, and okra. The cucumbers finally stopped producing. My newest trick is running by the tomato plants and snagging something off the vine. Just the other day, I snuck over to the vines and snagged a tomatillo! Dad told me to drop it and being obedient, I did, but I really wanted it.

Hope all is well with my friends!

That's Mine!

Wooo my friends...

I know, we have been slackers. Mom has been busy with work and stuff and has neglected assisting us with updating our blog. All is well, no worries!

The other day I was accused by Tia for taking something of hers. Perhaps the accusation was true, but there is no photo of the event happening. So if there isn't proof, I can never be found guilty, right?

Anywoo, here is what happened. Mom went to the store and bought Tia some of her special canned food. Let's have a look...

She looks pretty happy right? So, mom took "said" cans back to the kitchen and proceeded to open one and place her amount that she gets on a plate. She walked away for 2 seconds and when she returned, the food on the plate disappeared. "Gasp" she said, then looked at ME! Me! Are you kidding? I would NEVER steal cat food off the kitchen counter. She disagreed. Seriously... how can you doubt this face?

So do you think I am at fault? I don't think she has a case. She doesn't have any proof.

Not my 'maters

Wooo Friends...

While CM was outside checking the vegetable garden with Dad, they found something getting dangerously close to the tomato plants! Dad and CM came running back in the house and told Mom to get the camera to take a photo. Wanna know what it is? Let's take a photo look...

It is a horn worm and they do bad things to our 'maters. See how big it is? I mean, it was well over 3 or 4 inches. It was munching on the gardenia bush. So, it had not made it's way to the 'maters. But WOW it was big. Apparently they spit when they are threatened. So as Dad had to move it to a new home, it spit on him. Ewwwww.

We are off to the University of Georgia tomorrow for CM's CERF exam. GO DAWGS!!!!! I am not sure she knows what it means because she has been running about the house excited because she thinks she is going surfing. Hummmm....

Happy Thursday!

Woooo everyone :)

Finally! We have tomatillos! Well we have over 25 on the vines outside right now, but four were ready to come inside the house for us to eat. Oh wait. Mom just looked over my shoulder and said it was for her and Dad to eat, not us. We shall see about that. We are the ones who helped plant the seeds. We are the ones who watered every day. We helped inspect the vines of all of the vegetables. We DESERVE tomatillos. Oh wait. Mom looked over my shoulder again and said since we did provide our assistance, we can sample it. WOO HOO!

So here is what it looks like growing on the vine:

And here is what it looks like on our counter ready to eat... well almost. The husk has to be removed.
LOOK how yummy these tomatillos look.

And look how yummy it looks in CM's mouth, HA ROOO!

Hey CM..... This is how you are supposed to properly inspect the fruit.

Now you try....

Much better! Good Girl Cornelia Marie!

Now, what shall we make first with our first ever home grown tomatillos??? We have lots of recipes, including one yummy looking one Lorenza sent to us!

Hope everyone is well. The weekend is almost here and Mom's summer vacation has come to an end. Back to work 5 days a week for her. Boo :(

Hugs to all!

Marbled Bark

Last night, we helped mom make some Marbled Chocolate Bark. Wait a minute. What is wrong with this? Chocolate? We helped make something chocolaty, but never fear my friends... we were not allowed to taste test.... well, not exactly. (You may remember I helped Mom make this before.)

See mom and dad are going over to some friend's house tonight and they made this to take. Wait a minute. What is wrong with this? Notice, I said Mom and Dad, not US! Sigh.

So, we helped make something that we can't taste and we helped make something for them to take where we can't go. Sigh. I think we got robbed.

So, let's see what we made.
Yummmmy right? We were fortunate that Mom had some honey graham crackers in the pantry. So, we got to sample that. At least we were rewarded for our efforts, right? Here we are accepting our treats (Note CM finally sat calmly to take her prize... normally she turns into a jumping blur!!! You can really tell who takes treats like a true southern bell.... Notice you see her teeth, but not mine, HA ROOO!)

Well... Hope you all are having a great weekend and hope you were not tortured or tricked into helping your parents make something that not only you can't have, but you can't go where they are taking it. Hrumph! At least we overheard Mom say that she bought us more bully sticks.

Announcement for Mom

Today we wanted to share Mom's new blog with you all. However, this new blog still relates to us! Don't you all think we are letting her create a new blog that doesn't revolve around us in some way.

See, Mom and Dad like to cook together. And 99% of all Saturday's they cook together. They started a new "tradition" called New Recipe Saturday back in May.

So you wonder how we are involved, right? Well, I am the executive sous-chef. Sitka is too, but she mainly does supervision stuff and I do the actual assisting with cooking, cutting veggies, taste testing. Ok, Sitka does taste test as well.

A few things to remind you of...

  • Sitka made an Apple Cake
  • I tried to attack a Pineapple
  • We both work in the garden. See here, and here.
  • We make Wooscotti
  • We assist with the making of chocolate truffles
  • Even quality control is enforced on store bought pizza
  • Most recently, we assisted mom with making a Tart and Banana Bread (see photos below)
So, as you can see, we are very active in the kitchen and even though Mom has a new blog sharing recipes with you all, we are still involved.

So, her new site is called New Recipe Saturday. Every Saturday she features a new recipe, and during the week she has been posting older recipes and new ones as well (like last night's Honey Lime Chicken Sandwich).

Hope you have a great Thursday! The weekend is almost here!!!
